A Salisbury man is mourning the loss of his cousin after a shooting in New York on Wednesday.
George Nunez, a 29-year-old carrier for the Salisbury Post, said his cousin Luis Villot, also 29, was shot when trying to break up a fight in Brooklyn, New York. Nunez said Villot was shot in the head by an unidentified female on Wednesday.
Villot was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was on life support until Thursday afternoon, Nunez said. Villot was removed from life support on Thursday afternoon, Nunez said.
“It hasn’t really hit me yet,” Nunez said. “I was hoping he would pull through … I don’t know that it will hit me until I see him in a casket.”
Nunez said his cousin died twice, but doctors was able to revive him both times.
