CHINA GROVE – Kathleen Lipe Clayton, 88, formerly of 255 Brown Road, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Born March 18, 1918, in Rowan County, Mrs. Clayton was the daughter of the late Gip Leroy and Nannie Long Lipe. She attended Farm Life School and was a life-member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church. Mrs. Clayton retired from Cannon Mills in 1981. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Joseph Alexander Clayton on March 19, 1962. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Survivors include sons Dennis Wrenn Clayton and Gary Leroy Clayton, both of China Grove; granddaughter Alicia Michele Kennedy; and great-grandchildren Cody Robinson, Austin Kennedy and Sarah Kennedy. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Service: The service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Moriah Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Joseph Tallent, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Visitation: The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove.
