Sylvia Eudy “Nana” Hamby, 61, 5477 Whiting Avenue, died Friday (Dec. 15, 2006) at her home, following a 20-year battle with cancer.

Born Nov. 13, 1945, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Hamby was a daughter of the late Daniel B. and Margaret Bost Eudy.

She was a homemaker and a member of Skyland Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband Roger Hamby, China Grove; daughters Kema Jenkins, of the home, and Kelly Sloop, Kannapolis; son Tracy Mullis, Monroe; stepdaughter Annette Jones, Mooresville; sisters Jean Fortner, Harrisburg, and Patsy Lee, Mount Pleasant; brother Daniel “Bud” Eudy, Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

A service was held Monday (Dec. 18, 2006) at Lady’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Gary Posey. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
