LANDIS — Shirley Ann Correll Hinson, 73, 317 Round St., died Thursday (Dec. 21, 2006) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after three weeks of illness.

Born June 15, 1935, in Rowan County, Mrs. Hinson was a daughter of the late William C. and Myrtle Billings Correll.

She graduated from Landis High School in 1956 and Lakeland Bible School, Lakeland, Fla., in 1968.

Son Joseph Allen Hinson preceded her in death.

Survivors include husband Raymond Hinson; son Russell Hinson, Salisbury; daughters Rae Ann Griggs, Jacksonville, and Tamra Mullinax, Landis; sister Billy Jo Overcash, Landis; brother Arvill “Bun” Billings, Landis; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A service was held Saturday (Dec. 23, 2006) at Whitley’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. John Gridlar.
