SALISBURY – Helen Louise Hillard, 89, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at her home.

Mrs. Hillard was born on April 4, 1917 in Princeton, W. Va. to the late Earnest James Rimer and Estelle Bell Clement Rimer. She was a graduate of Boyden High School Class of 1934. Mrs. Hillard was employed with the Woolworth Stores for 35 years. She was a lifelong member of North Main Baptist Church where she was formerly a Sunday School teacher.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son Rev. Bobby Howard Hillard.

Mrs. Hillard is survived by her husband, Howard R. Hillard to whom she was married for over 71 years; son, Jerry Wayne Hillard of Potomac, Md.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Rimer, of Florence, S.C., Carl Rimer of Burbank, Calif., and Jack Rimer of Marion, S.C.

Service: A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at North Main Baptist Church with Dr. W. Dale Robertson, Pastor of North Main Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation: The family will see friends one hour before funeral services in the church parlor.
