'H.R.' Butler

CONCORD — Horace Rowe “H.R.” Butler, 90, Sapp Road, died Sunday (Dec. 24, 2006) at NorthEast Medical Center.
Born Aug. 23, 1916, in Mooresville, Mr. Butler was a son of the late Curthbert and Lala McFalls Butler.
He was an insurance agent for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
In 1958, he opened Carolina Bible Camp for children and served as director for more than 35 years. He served as an elder at Kannapolis Church of Christ and was also a member of Kannapolis Rotary Club.
His wife, Margaret Ward Butler, preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughter Margo Kennerly, Kannapolis; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
A service was held Saturday (Dec. 30, 2006) at Kannapolis Church of Christ, conducted by Kirk Sams. Burial, Jericho Church of Christ, Mocksville.
Lady’s Funeral Home was in charge.
