Mary Shipton Russell

Salisbury – Mary Kathryn “Pris” Shipton Russell, 77, of Salisbury, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at Northeast Medical Center, Concord.
She was born Dec. 4, 1929 in Rowan County to the late Arthur Shipton and Lula Morgan Shipton. She was a graduate of Boyden High School in Salisbury, a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, member of the Laura Miller-Velna Brown Circle, WELCA, Arthur Shipton Adult Sunday School Class and the Immanuel Senior Citizens. Mary Kathryn had retired from Southern Bell with 35 years of service.
In addition to her parents, her husband Charles Blalock Russell preceded her in death in 1986.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jane Russell Clark of Salisbury; brother, Ralph Shipton of Wilmington; sister, Lorine “Doodle” Moore of Rockwell; granddaughter, Cammy Watson Basinger of Rockwell; great-grandchildren, Chandler Basinger and Isabella Basinger.
Visitation: Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the church
Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Bruce Sheeks, Pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery
