Lester Leroy Baker, 73, 206 Sharpe St., died Thursday (Jan. 4, 2007) at Big Elm Nursing Home.

Born Aug. 26, 1933, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Baker was a son of the late Frank Cornelius and Bertha Carnes Baker.

He was a member of North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church, retired from Fieldcrest Cannon and was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy M. Baker; sons Mark and Houston Baker, both of Kannapolis, and Dale Baker of the home; and three grandchildren.

A services was held Sunday at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church, conducted by the Rev. Steve Beam, the Rev. Ronnie Cook and the Rev. Billy Honeycutt. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Lady’s Funeral Home was in charge.
