Gail P. Hendren

Gail Powers Hendren, 70, 1304 W. C St., died Monday (Jan. 8, 2007) at Hospice House.
Born Oct. 6, 1936, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Hendren was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Bertha Eidson Hines.
She worked at Bob’s Laundry, Concord, and Puritan Laundry, Kannapolis, in earlier years and then was office manager for Dr. Earl Correll for many years. She later worked part-time at Gift Corner and Southern Charm.
She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and its circle work, and helped organize the Kannapolis Chapter of the Red Hat Society, which she served as queen mother.
Daughter Terry Lynn Chapman died in 1999.
Survivors include husband Ralph Guy Hendren, daughter Sandy Whitfield, Savannah, Ga.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Memorial United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. C. Darrin Everhardt and the Rev. Ronnie W. Parker. Burial, Kannapolis Cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Whitley’s Funeral Home.
