Joseph Husak

Joseph Husak 83, 207 Goldston St., died Friday (Dec. 29, 2006) at his home.
Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Flint, Mich., Mr. Husak was a son of the late Vasial and Anna Bilan Husak.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign.
Retired from General Motors, he was a 3rd-degree member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 25 years. St. Joseph’s Council 12167 awarded him the Life Time Achievement Award in the fall.
Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Julia Szabo Husak; daughters Jayne Barto, Huntersville, Jenine Duffey, Rathdrum, Idaho, and Juliann Douglas, Perry Mich.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Lady’s Funeral Home is in charge.
Services: Memorial, 7 p.m. Monday (Jan. 15, 2007), St. Joseph Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. Alvaro Riquelme, C.S.R, with presentations by St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Council 12167 and the 4th Degree Honor Guard.
