Connie Fleming Neely

SALISBURY – Connie Lucille Fleming Neely, age 85, of 305 Ackert Ave., died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at The Laurels of Salisbury.
Born June 27, 1921, in Davie County, Mr. Neely was the daughter of the late James L. and Connie Knox Fleming Sr. Educated in the Davie County public schools, she was a domestic. She also worked as an elevator operator in New Jersey before returning to Salisbury for retirement.
A faithful member of Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, she was active in many facets of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” James Neely; brother Everett A. Fleming; and sisters Elizabeth F. Blake and Ruth F. Phifer.
Left to cherish fond memories are her brother, James L. (Valeria) Fleming Jr. of Fayetteville; sisters Eulalia Fleming and Alma F. Cowan, both of Salisbury; aunt Mae Frances Fleming of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Public Viewing: Tonight from 1-8 at Mitchell & Fair Funeral Service.
Visitation: Friday from 12-1 p.m. at Mitchell & Fair Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Service: Friday at 1 p.m. at Mitchell & Fair Memorial Chapel officiated by the Rev. Robert Fullwood, pastor of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
