Willie John Heilig

Willie John Heilig, 80, 5912 Princeton Ave., died Jan. 16, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, following 10 years of declining health.
Born April 29, 1926, in Rowan County, Mr. Heilig was a son of the late John and Lena Atkins Heilig. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for Cannon Mills for 27 years.
He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he had chaired the deacon board for 15 years.
Survivors include wife Mildred Davis Heilig; sons Ronnie Heilig, Kannapolis, Randy Heilig, Concord, and Eugene Caldwell, Harrisburg; daughter Kelly Barr, Winston-Salem; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A service was held Saturday (Jan. 20, 2007) at Macedonia Baptist Church, Concord, conducted by the Rev. John Leazer. Burial, church cemetery.
Clark Funeral Home was in charge.
