MOORESVILLE – Evelyn Myrtle Ferguson Scruggs, 92, of Briarwood Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Born March 11, 1914, in Pittsylvania County, Va., Mrs. Scruggs was the daughter of the late Lewis H. Ferguson Sr. and Irene Farmer Ferguson. She was a housewife and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Irvin Scruggs, whom she married in December 1930; and three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by son Chester Lyle Scruggs and wife Martha; grandson Kevin Lyle Scruggs and wife Laura; great-grandson Kyle Mellon Scruggs; great-granddaughter Hannah Marie Scruggs; and two nieces and two nephews.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Cozart officiating.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
