WASHINGTON — The Carolina Hurricanes made mistakes, over and over again, against a team full of scorers ready to take advantage.

Alexander Semin had two goals and an assist, Alex Ovechkin extended his point-scoring streak to 11 games and the Washington Capitals scored five times off turnovers in a 7-3 victory over the Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Justin Williams, Erik Cole and David Tanabe scored for Carolina, which has lost four of six.

Rangers 2, Flyers 1

PHILADELPHIA — Jason Krog’s tiebreaking goal 3:49 into the third period gave the New York Rangers a 2-1 win over Philadelphia on Saturday, sending the Flyers to their ninth straight loss.

Jaromir Jagr also scored for the Rangers.

Senators 3, Bruins 1

OTTAWA — Ray Emery made 29 saves, and Patrick Eaves and Chris Neil scored third-period goals to help Ottawa get its seventh victory in eight games.

Predators 6, Blues 3

ST. LOUIS — Martin Erat and Steve Sullivan scored two goals apiece as Nashville beat St. Louis for the sixth time this season and 14th straight overall.

Islanders 5, Sabres 3

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Randy Robitaille scored with 3:09 left in regulation to help rally New York for its first home win since Dec. 26.

Jochen Hecht scored twice for the Sabres, while Ales Kotalik added a goal. Buffalo lost its third straight game for the first time all season. Miller stopped 26 shots.

Blue Jackets 3, Wild 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Rostislav Klesla had a goal and an assist as Columbus held on for its third straight victory.

Dan Fritsche and Anson Carter also scored, and David Vyborny added two assists for the Blue Jackets, who have won four of five. They began the day 13 points behind Minnesota for last Western Conference playoff spot.

Maple Leafs 4, Canadiens 1

TORONTO — Defenseman Pavel Kubina scored twice to lead Toronto over Montreal.

Mats Sundin and Jeff O’Neill also scored power-play goals for the Maple Leafs, who have won three of five against their Original Six rival.

Panthers 4, Devils 2

SUNRISE, Fla. — Rostislav Olesz scored twice and Joel Kwiatkowski had the game-winner as Florida won consecutive games for the first time since Dec. 27-29.

Ed Belfour had 29 saves and Jozef Stumpel added an empty-netter at 19:39.

Penguins 7, Coyotes 2

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Sidney Crosby and Mark Recchi each had a goal and three assists to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 7-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.
