Richard J. Fesperman

MT. ULLA – Richard James Fesperman, 65, of Mt. Ulla, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1941 in Salisbury, the son of the late Gurman and Mildred Rex Fesperman. He was an electrician with Tar Heel Electric and attended West Rowan High School. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, was an avid quail hunter and gardener and greatly loved his grandsons and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Poteat Fesperman, two daughters: Sheryl F. Sigmon & husband Billy, and Kim F. Lowder & husband Scott, both of Mt. Ulla. Five sisters: Margie Karriker of Mt. Ulla, Ella Mae Stewart of Mooresville, Sandra Jackson of Faith, Lou Gallimore of Salisbury and Kay McSwain of Wilmington and one brother: Ronnie Fesperman of Salisbury. Four grandchildren: Joshua and Jeremy Sigmon, Jessie and Justin Lowder; three great grandchildren: Hunter, Rilie and Haylee Sigmon and one step grandson, Brad Sigmon; father-in-law, Hayden Poteat; brother-in-law, Eddie Poteat; sister-in-law, Pam Clough, all of Mt. Ulla and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Barbara Jean Fleming, Peggy Goodman, Clyde Fesperman and Junior Fesperman.
Funeral services: are scheduled for 2:00 P.M.,Thursday, February 1, 2007, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Mary Louise Sitton officiating. Burial: will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 31, 2007, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
