Hazel W. Cannon

Hazel Weaver Cannon, 86, formerly of 720 Evelyn Ave., died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2007) at Lutheran Nursing Home, Salisbury, following a period of declining health.
Born Sept. 7, 1920, in Davidson County, Mrs. Cannon was a daughter of the late John M. and Fannie Gibson Weaver.
A resident of the area since the 1940s, she retired after 371/2 years in the Packaging Department of Cannon Mills Plant 1. She was a member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Her husband, Hubert W. Cannon, died Jan. 25, 1994.
Survivors include sons Robert Weaver, Lexington, Ky., John Cannon, Rockwell, and David Cannon, Kannapolis; daughter Hulene Woody, Salisbury; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 8, 2007), Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Barnhill and the Rev. Ralph Adams. Burial, at Carolina Memorial Park.
