John Wayne Henry, 72, 2402 S. Ridge Ave., died Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2007) at Hospice House.

Born July 23, 1934, in Mecklenburg County, Mr. Henry was a son of the late George Washington and Laura Heglar Henry.

He retired from Cabarrus Creamery in 1985.

Survivors include wife Mattie Holt Henry; sons Jerry Wayne Henry, Concord, and Keith D. Shankle, Kannapolis; brother Whit Henry, Concord; sister Georgia Efird, Kannapolis; and a grandson.

A service was held Friday (Feb. 2, 2007) at Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Duane Holt and the Rev. James Caldwell. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
