Mary A. Hawkins

CONCORD — Mary Alice Moose Hawkins, 89, formerly of Forest Street, died Jan. 31, 2007, at Morningside Assisted Living Center from complications of cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Born Aug. 14, 1917, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Hawkins was a daughter of the late Joseph Luther and Minnie Swing Moose.
She retired from Cannon Mills and formerly worked in the office at the old Belk Department Store. She was a long-time member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She had lived at Morningside Assisted Living since May.
Her husband, Clinton “CB” Barringer Hawkins, preceded her in death.
Survivors include cousin and primary caregiver Deon Gray Ritchie, Concord, and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service was held Sunday (Feb. 4, 2007) at Wilkinson Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. John E. Boyd and the Rev. Bill Milholland. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
