SALISBURY – Muriel Trexler McGinnis, 90, of Salisbury, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Autumn Care of Salisbury.
Born Oct. 10, 1916, in Rowan County, Mrs. McGinnis was a daughter of the late Georgie Barringer Trexler and Narvey Apolean Trexler. A graduate of Boyden High School and Salisbury Business College, she had early in life worked as a secretary for Wachovia Bank. She and her husband ran Deluxe Cleaners.
Mrs. McGinnis was a member of North Main Baptist Church, the Annie Brantley Sunday School Class, WMU and was very active in all activities of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bryson “Dick” McGinnis, on Jan. 30, 1986. They were married Dec. 26, 1945. Also predeceased was a brother, James Trexler.
Survivors include daughters Harriet Brown (Donny), Jeannie Anthony and Patty Weaver, all of Salisbury; sisters Wilburn Taylor (Joe), Sarah Drennon and Betty Hicklin (Albert); grandchildren Jason Brown, Julie Brown, Ashli Shirley (Todd), Cameron Anthony and Jennifer W. Robertson (Jason); and great-grandchildren Tatum Shirley and Jaden Robertson.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at North Main Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Robertson officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at Lyerly Funeral Home.
