Tony D. Sloop
ROCKWELL ó Tony Douglas Sloop, 52, Phaniels Church Road, died Sunday (Nov. 19, 2006).
Born June 18, 1954, in Rowan County, Mr. Sloop was a son of the late Hoyle E. and Marie Faggart Sloop.
He worked at Philip Morris in Concord and was a member of Phaniels Baptist Church and the Tar Heel Striper Fishing Club.
Survivors include wife Lynda Scoggins Sloop; daughters Tina Turner, Rockwell, and Kim Deal, China Grove; sons Jason and Benji Sloop, both of Salisbury; Charlie and the Rev. Billy Sloop, both of Rockwell, and the Rev. Gary Sloop, Mooresville; sister Maxine Lentz, Rockwell; and nine grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. today (Nov. 22, 2006), Phaniels Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Michael Taylor, the Rev. Greg Lentz and the Rev. Jeff Faggart. Burial, church cemetery.
Lady’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis, is in charge.
