North Rowan’s Jason Ridenhour has committed to play baseball at Methodist next season.
The outfielder/pitcher led the county with a .466 batting average this spring and paced the county with 33 runs scored.

Kannapolis and Kernersville have cancelled a non-division game originally scheduled for tonight at Veterans Field.
Both teams are missing seniors due to graduation trips.
n Catawba football
Catawba football’s day camp for ages 7-18 will be held from July 9-11.
Registration is from 8-8:30 a.m. on July 9. The cost is $75. A $25 deposit will secure a spot.

Bobby Parnell (East Rowan) is scheduled to make his second Double-A start tonight when the Binghamton Mets take on the Harrisburg Senators.
n Intimidators fall
The Kannapolis Intimidators were pounded 11-0 by the Greensboro Grasshoppers in a South Atlantic League baseball game. Kannapolis (30-37) was shut out for the fifth time.n Carson girls camp
Carson girls basketball coach Brooke Misenheimer will be holding a camp for grades 6-8 from July 9-12.
