Nellie Brown
CONCORD ó Nellie Ruth Brown, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast.
Brown was educated in the Grace Lutheran Church School and graduated from Logan High School in Concord. She was a member of First Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as the Mother of the Church, gospel choir adviser, secretary of the church and founder of the Senior and Youth Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Brown Jr. Survivors include sons George W. Brown III and Robert L. Harris, both of Concord; daughters Carrie L. Widby, Phyllis A. Bell and Dorothy Lawings, all of Concord; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at First Primitive Baptist Church, the Rev. Nathaniel Davis officiating. Burial, Rutherford Cemetery, Concord.
