Vera P. Safrit
CONCORD ó Vera Pennell Safrit, 91, of 3131 Irish Potato Road, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at her home.
Born May 3, 1916, in Alexander County, she was a daughter of the late Artie Franklin and Fannie Actrice Pennell.
Mrs. Safrit retired from Cannon Mills, where she worked in the washcloth department. She was a charter member of Charity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill R. Safrit, in 1991; and a daughter, Mitzi Walker.
Survivors include daughters Kathy Casper of Concord and Pam Petrea of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Jan. 17, 2008, at Charity Baptist Church, Dr. R.J. Hammond and the Rev. Gene Beaver officiating. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Lady’s Funeral Home was in charge.
