Bostian – Wingler Engagement
Raymond and Linda Bostian of Lexington are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Nicole Bostian, to Christopher ?Dwayne Wingler of Kannapolis.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Bernie and Anna Bostian of China Grove and the late Luther and Helen Faggart of Mount Ulla. A 2004 graduate of West Davidson High School, Elizabeth graduated cum laude from Catawba College in 2008, where she was on the Deanís and Presi?dentís lists all four years. She is employed by Bostian Retirement in Salisbury.
The future groom is the son of Larry and Ann Wingler and the grandson of Buck and Jody Wingler and Gladys and the late Otis Rabon, all of Kannapolis. A 2005 graduate of South Rowan High School and 2009 graduate of Catawba College, Christopher is employed by Bostian Retirement.
The wedding is Oct. 17 at the home of the brideís parents in Lexington.
Boyd Birth
Shawn Isaac Boyd Jr. was born July 22, 2009, at Lexington Mem?orial Hospital weighing 5 lb., 1 oz. The son of Shawn Boyd and Sahirah Akbar of Salisbury, Shawn has a brother, Kenndrick Harper Jr., 6. His grandparents are Neicy Boyd of Charlotte and Subora Thelwell of Salisbury, and his great-grandparents are Hazel Boyd, Tempie Boyd and Claudie Boyd of Salisbury, Melvina Cole?man of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Orlando Davie of Queens, N.Y.
Brown McBryde Wedding
KANNAPOLIS ó Kristen Butler Brown and John McRae McBryde were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Midway United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dave Cash officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Cabarrus Country Club with music by Fabulous Kays Band.
The bride was escorted by her father, Kenneth Brown. She was attired in a natural white, dupioni silk, strapless gown by Paloma Blanca of Toronto. The gown featured a rouched crossover bodice falling into a fit flare skirt, with an elegant detachable train at the back. The bride completed her ensemble with a floral bouquet of white hydrangea, white calla lilies, white roses and white frescia.
Attending as the brideís maid of honor was Kristen?Nelson of Raleigh, and matron of honor was her sister, Kellie Davis of Raleigh. Serving as bridesmaids were Melanie Maher of Kannapolis, Cheryl Irwin of Charleston, S.C., and Jana Moss of Raleigh. The bridesmaids wore dresses of champagne silk taffeta in designs of their choice and carried white and green hydrangea, white roses and white frescia.
Stephen McBryde stood as his sonís best man. Groomsmen included Charles Nichols of Laurinburg, Wes Davis of Colerain, Chip Kincaid of Vienna, Va., Eddie Sidenstricker of Charlotte and Sam Trawick of Monroe.
Barrett Davis of Raleigh, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. Guest register attendants were Caroline Bentley of Apex and Meredith Alford of Concord. Tracy Love was vocalist, and Doris Holloway was organist. The wedding was directed by Candy Winecoff.
The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Linda Brown of Kannapolis and the granddaughter of Theresa Labhart of Crestview, Fla. A 2001 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Kristen received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina State University in 2005 and her elementary teaching certification from Meredith College. She is a second grade teacher with Johnston County Schools.
The groom is the son of Stephen and Nancy McBryde and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur McRae, all of Maxton. A 2001 graduate of Scotland High School, John received a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from NCSU in 2005. He is a forester with the N.C. Division of Forest Resources.
Following a wedding trip to Disney World, the couple will make their home in Zebulon.
Extended Courtesies
On June 19, a miscellaneous shower was held at the home of Sharon Deloney hosted by Candy Winecoff, Sharon Deloney, Julia Alford, Fran Garver, Kathy Marlow and Terri Chaney.
The brideís co-workers also hosted a shower in June at the home of Vicki Buss.
An additional miscellaneous shower was given by the women of Midway United Methodist Church on July 26.
Candy Winecoff hosted the bridesmaids luncheon July 31 at Maxís Ally Restaurant.
Felock – Caudle Engagement
Thomas and Deborah Felock of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Beth Felock of Concord, to Ryan Lewis Caudle of King.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Franklin and Delores Redner of Lexington and the late Andrew and Susan Felock of Springdale, Pa. A 1999 graduate of West Rowan High School, Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Appalachian State University in 2003, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She is a Nationally Certified Interior Designer and is employed as a project manager with Design Services at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The future groom is the son of Frankie Caudle of King and Richard Caudle of Mount Airy and the grandson of Richard and Shelby Caudle and the late Hiram and Pearl Baker, all of King. A 1999 graduate of South Stokes High School, Ryan is employed with Technical Services at CB Richard Ellis in Charlotte.
The couple will be wed Sept. 26 at First United Methodist Church in Salisbury.
Freeze 60th Anniversary
Jim and Hazel Freeze of Mooresville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 16, 2009. Their four sons, Terry, Jimmy, Tony and Mark, along with their wives celebrated together with a festive dinner. Jim and Hazel were married at St. Enoch Lutheran Church in Kannapolis.
Horton Five Generations
Lucille Hortonís recent trip to Florida completed the gathering of five generations. Hutto – Moore Engagement
Ann Hutto and Gary Martinson of Kannapolis are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Marie Hutto, to Raymond Heath Moore of China Grove.
Amanda is the granddaughter of Judy and the late Jack Fisher and Carolyn Wilson, all of Kannapolis. A 2005 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, she is an assistant customer service manager for Food Lion.
Heath is the son of Loy and Tammy Harris of China Grove and the late Raymond R. Moore. He is the grandson of Jerry and Alice Burris of China Grove and Clay Thomas of Concord. A 2004 graduate of South Rowan High School, he is serving in the U.S. Navy.
The wedding is Sept. 4.
McKenzie – Everhart Engagement
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hayden McKenzie of High Point announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Leigh McKenzie, to Benjamin Alan Everhart, both of Raleigh.
Laura is a graduate of High Point Central High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchan?dising from Meredith College. She is employed by Edward Jones.
The future groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. George Everhart of Salisbury and the grandson of Lewellyn and the late Redwan David of Whiteville and the late G.R. and Addie Mae Everhart of Spencer. A graduate of Salisbury High School, Ben received a BA in Chemistry and BS in Bio- Chemistry from North Carolina State University and a M.Ed from Wake Forest University. He is the owner of Aquatic Management Group.
The wedding is Dec. 12 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point.
Newman Second Anniversary
William Earl Newman and Kimberly M. Newman of Gold Hill are celebrating their second wedding anniversary Aug. 6, 2009. William and Kimberly were united in marriage Aug. 6, 2007, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The couple have one daughter, Rebecca Louise Newman.
Patterson Graduation
Brenton Guy Patterson of Salisbury graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro May 15, 2009, with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics with a concentration in Business Administration from the Joseph M. Bryan School of Business and Economics. The son of Steve and Debbie Patterson of Salisbury and the grandson of Guy Patterson of China Grove, Brenton is currently employed with Statewide Collection Service in China Grove.
Saunders Clark Wedding
WILSON ó Katie Lee Saunders and Joel Regan Clark were united in marriage May 16, 2009, at First Christian Church.
The Rev. Joy Westcott officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Willow Springs Country Club.
The bride was escorted by her father, Kirby Saunders. Attending as maid of honor was Jennifer Kraut of Alexandria, Va., and bridesmaids included Lauren Rowe and Lindsay Rowe of Greenville, cousins of the bride; Caroline Clark of Linwood, sister of the groom; Krysta Helms of Greensboro; Blair Southerland of Charlotte; and Emily Dale of Durham. Flower girl was Kaylee Summerlin of Elm City
Father of the groom Eric Clark stood as best man. Groomsmen included Steven Clark of Kingsport, Tenn., brother of the groom; Alexander Earle of Apex; Todd Twilley of Lexington; Michael Ballard of Greenville; and David Konetchy and Matthew McLaughlin, both of Raleigh. Jackson Summerlin of Elm City was the ring bearer.
Emily Smith of Raleigh was the guest registrar. Program attendant was Kimberly Summerlin of Elm City.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Saunders of Wilson and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Rowe of Aurora and Mr. Clayton Saunders and the late Mrs. Saunders of Wilson. A 2002 graduate of Ralph L. Fike High School, Katie graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Clark of Linwood and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Clark of Linwood and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle Regan of Lexington. A 2002 graduate of Central Davidson High School, Joel graduated from North Carolina State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple are making their home in Cary.
Vanhoy Hartsell Wedding
CONCORD ó Jana Kelly Vanhoy and Joshua Adam Hartsell were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dr. Mark Ericson officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at The Club at Irish Creek.
The bride was escorted by her father, Mike Vanhoy, and attended by Laura Billings of Kannapolis as maid of honor. Her bridesmaids included Hillary Vanhoy of China Grove, Courtney Garrett of Kannapolis, Michelle Phillips of Charlotte and Amber Anson of Concord.
Andrew Hartsell stood as the groomís best man. Groomsmen included Timothy Hartsell of Concord, Alec McCaskill and Neill McCaskill of Star and Luis Acosta of Charlotte.
The bride is the daughter of Kelly Vanhoy of Concord and Mike and Carolyn Vanhoy of Star. She is the granddaughter of Clara and the late Paul Smith and Everette and Lucille Vanhoy, all of Gold Hill. A 2003 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Jana received a bachelorís degree in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003. She is employed by Cabarrus County Schools.
The groom is the son of Rick and Violet Hartsell and the grandson of Robert and the late Evelyn Hartsell and Ray and Ruby Widenhouse, all of Concord. A 2003 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Josh is employed by Carolina Tractor.
Following a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will make their home in Concord.
Yost – Sides Engagement
Mike and Patty Yost of Salisbury and Cyndi Yost of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Taylor Yost, to Dustin Aaron Sides, both of Locust.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Georgia and the late Marvin B. Yost and Norma Hoyle and the late Jake Shaver, all of Salisbury. A 2001 graduate of East Rowan High School, Kristen graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2005. She is a teacher at Endy Elementary in Stanly County.
The future groom is the son of Tim and Teressa Sides of Oakboro and the grandson of the late Curtis and Ruth Eudy of Locust and the late Clyde and Colleen Sides of Albemarle. A 1996 graduate of West Stanly High School, Dustin is employed by Cintas Uniform Company in Charlotte.
The couple will wed Oct. 24 at Dennis Vineyards in Albemarle.
