Blotter: Woman charged with counterfeiting

According to reports from the Salisbury Police Department, Tosha Gainey, 24, was arrested and charged with counterfeiting or uttering counterfeit coin at 130 E. Liberty St. on Aug. 5. Gainey received a a court date of August 6 and a secure bond of $1,000, she was then released to the custody of the Rowan County Detention Center.
In other reports from the Salisbury Police Department:
– James Payne, 61, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance at 1000 N. Long St., on Aug. 5.
– Sahira Akbar, 27, was arrested and charged with simple assault and injury to personal property at 220 S. West St., on Aug. 6.
– Lucas Pulliam reported motor vehicle theft at 326 Mahaley Ave., on Aug. 5.
– Bank of America, 2089 Statesville Blvd., reported a burglary on Aug. 6. According to reports, the burglary occurred between 2:30 a.m and 3 a.m.
