CONCORD ó A Cabarrus County grand jury has indicted the man accused of raping a Kannapolis woman after her husband arranged the crime using Craigslist.
The jury returned an indictment Monday against Rodney Wayne Liverman, 39, in the May 31 rape of the woman at her Shiloh Church Road home.
Police say the woman’s husband used Craigslist to hire the man to rape his wife.
Police say Liverman went into the couple’s home and held the wife at knifepoint. At some point, authorities say, she got the knife away from him and tossed it near her husband, who did nothing. Police say the husband told his wife to take a shower and not call police after the assault.
Both the husband and Liverman are in the Cabarrus County jail.
The Post is not identifying the husband in order to protect the victim’s identity.
