KANNAPOLIS ó   Police have  identified a pedestrian struck by a vehicle Tuesday night as Christopher Evans Bradley, 47 , of Mooresville.
Police said late Wednesday that  Bradley is in Northeast Medical Center in stable condition.
According to investigators, the driver of a dark-colored SUV stopped at the scene, got out of his vehilcle and then left the scene.
Police are continuing to search for the driver and are asking for the publicís help.

At approximately 8:41 p.m. Tuesday,  officers were dispatched to a personal injury traffic crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Dale Earnhardt Boulevard and Vance Street.

After examining evidence at the crash scene along with information obtained by several witnesses, police were able to determine the following:

 A dark colored SUV-type vehicle was heading north on Dale Earnhardt Boulevard approaching the intersection of Vance Street. As the SUV neared the intersection, it hit a pedestrian who was in the left travel lane.

According to several witnesses, the driver of SUV stopped after the crash, got out for a moment and then left the scene.  He was a white male in his 20s, witnesses said.

No one was able to provide a registration plate number for the SUV.  

The pedestrian was transported from the scene by Cabarrus County EMS to CMC- Northeast with serious injuries.
