30-pound marijuana find leads to arrest

RICHFIELD ó A Richfield man is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond after being charged with drug-related offenses.
Gregory Michael Heyer, 52, of 17670 Stokes Ferry Road, is scheduled to make a first court appearance this morning.
He’s charged by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office with trafficking in marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for the sale of marijuana and felony possession of marijuana.
According to a warrant filed Saturday at the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Heyer had 30.1 pounds of marijuana in his double-wide mobile home.
He also had various items used in the raising and harvesting of marijuana, the warrant said.
