Altrusa of Salisbury will conduct a food distribution Thursday for Rowan County residents only at Salisbury Civic Center, 315 S. Boundary St. , from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until all food is gone.
Food Stamp recipients should bring the letters which were mailed to them.
All others who do not receive food stamps can come to the Civic Center because they may also be eligible to receive the free food. They must disclose the total gross monthly household income. Examples of the income guidelines are: one person, $1,107; family of two people, $1,484; family of four, $2,238; family of six, $2,992.
The program does not require that you disclose the value of your home, car or savings. Nor are you required to be a legal alien resident. Bring a container for the food.
Available food items include corn, diced tomatoes, whole frozen chicken, grapefruit and canned salmon.
