The Rowan Arts Council announced Friday plans to move its office back to downtown Salisbury from the current location in Spencer.
The new office will open in the Rail Walk Studios and Gallery building at 409-413 N Lee St in the historic warehouse arts district.
According to Marietta Smith, executive director in a press release, “We are very excited about moving back to Salisbury. We feel that as a countywide organization, we should be located in the county seat. We will also be physically closer to the headquarters of the other arts organizations.”We are very pleased to be moving to the arts district where we will be better located for folks to drop in with good ideas for the arts and to share inspirations, hopes and even hardships. We want to be a networking facility helping to provide opportunities and support for the arts. It will be inspiring for us to be surrounded by artists working on their creations.”
The Arts Council plans to move into its new location by early February.
People can contact the Arts Council by calling 704-638-9887, mailing information to P.O. Box 4234, Salisbury NC 28145. The group’s Web site is www.rowanarts.org.
