Blotter – Sheriff's Office investigating break-in at Woodleaf salon

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at a Woodleaf salon.
Owner Roxanne Gibbons reported on Nov. 21 someone pried open the front door to her salon, Roxanne’s Beauty and Tanning Salon, at 6225 Woodleaf Road.
It did not appear anything was missing. There was about $200 in damages to the locks.

– Donald Clarance Hobart reported on Nov. 21 an accidental shooting at 515 Ellen St.
– Robert John Smith reported on Nov. 21 someone stole his Ford Thunderbird from his garage at 5670 S. Main St.
– Angela Eury Johnson reported on Nov. 21 someone took the license plate from her vehicle at 9145 Bringle Ferry Road.
– Travis Dean Smith reported on Nov. 21 $9,000 damage to construction equipment at Bostian Logging and Grading at 370 Down Yonder Drive.
– A Ford Ranger belonging to Kenneth Alan Morgan was recovered Nov. 22 in the 100 block of State Road.
– James Darby reported on Nov. 22 his residence was broken into and jewelry, cash, medications and other items stolen at 470 Paige Drive.
– Ricky Eugene Hamilton reported on Nov. 22 that between Nov. 9 and Nov. 22 someone took an antique China set and silverware from 560 E Ridge Road.
– Rafael Sotelo Lopez reported on Nov. 23 someone broke the front and rear windows of his Ford Expedition at 1104 S. Chapel St., Landis.
– Steven Michael Suddeth reported on Nov. 22 someone scraped his car at 350 Virginia Ave., China Grove.
– Carlyle Sherrill reported on Nov. 23 someone stolen a John Deere Gator from 14175 N.C. 801, Mount Ulla.
– Shannon Hope Jones, 34, was charged Nov. 21 with felony trafficking heroin at 232 N. Main St.
– Alvin Eugene Douglas, 43, was charged Nov. 21 with being a fugitive from justice at 115 W. Liberty St.
– Bobbi Penley Conner, 27, was charged Nov. 22 with cyberstalking at 1095 John Miller Road, Rockwell.
– Scott Alan Fischer, 41, was charged Nov. 23 with misdemeanor assault on a government official at 118 W. Liberty St.
– Danny Ray Kepley, 48, was charged Nov. 23 with misdemeanor communicating threats at 2165 Cauble Road.
– Robert Lee Gallimore, 44, was charged Nov. 23 with misdemeanor nonsupport of child at 7609 Old Concord Road.
– Gregory Booth, 25, was charged Nov. 23 with felony breaking and entering a building at 232 N. Main St.
Two charged with drag racing
Deputy R.J. Johnson observed three vehicles racing north on Interstate 85 from Julian Road Nov. 24. The vehicles were clocked at 98 mph in a 65 mph zone. Two men were stopped at I-85 and E. Innes St. and admitted to racing each other. The third vehicle was not located.
Kardias Rivage Johnson, 18, and Christopher Troy Lewis, 21, were charged with racing/spontaneous speed competition on a highway or street. The two were placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $1,000 secured bond and have since been released.
– Sue Walker Brady reported on Nov. 24 someone stole prescription medications from her home at 189 Catfish Terrace.
– Woodleaf BP reported on Nov. 24 an employee who’d been seen on video stealing lottery tickets and cigarettes over a period of several weeks at the store located at 3335 N.C. 801, Woodleaf.
Stephanie Marie Jones, 25, was charged with felony embezzlement by an employee.
– Brian Kluttz reported on Nov. 24 a burglary at 3675 St. Peters Church Road. Jonathan Grant Houck Vernon, 43, was charged with felony breaking and entering a building at 240 Scrub Pine Drive.
– Joshua Mitchell Knight reported on Nov. 24 a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle at 750 Eastview Road, Lot 4. Someone took medications, an iPod, cell phone and DVD.
– Derrick Howard Carlton reported on Nov. 24 someone broke into a Jeep Wrangler and a Mitsubishi Eclipse at 775 Eastview Road, taking a speaker, amp and ratchet.
– Two West Rowan High students set off a small explosive in a trash can Nov. 20 and Nov. 21 during breakfast in the cafeteria. Both students were charged and suspended from school.
– Ronald Francis Bradley reported on Nov. 24 someone broke the glass out of his back door at 110 Randall Court.
– Joel Terrell Leach, 16, was charged Nov. 24 with misdemeanor failure to comply with rest of provisional at 8050 N.C. 801.
– Michael Dean Overcash reported on Nov. 25 somone took his Toyota Tundra from his driveway in the middle of the night at 1470 Centenary Church Road, Mount Ulla.
– Amanda George Hamm reported on Nov. 25 someone took items including a ladder, wheelbarrow, saw, window air conditioning unit and other construction tools from a residence at 10637 U.S. 52, Rockwell.
– Jesus Andaya, 17, and Tiffany Michelle Hall, 17, were charged Nov. 25 with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia at 175 St. Lukes Church Road.
A deputy found the students in possession of a black mesh bag with a strong odor of marijuana.
– Phillip Albert Brown, 29, and Larsen Keithley Pant, 26, were charged Nov. 26 with possession with the intent to manufacture sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance at 550 S. Yadkin Ave., Spencer. They were arrested following a traffic stop.
– Justin Wayne Peacock reported on Nov. 26 his Ford Mustang was destroyed by fire at 1515 Deal Road, Mooresville.
– Aaron Litaker reported on Nov. 26 someone stole nine 6-week-old Pola-China pigs from their pen at 265 Litaker Road.
– Constance Dior Smith reported on Nov. 26 someone took her purse after it was accidently left on the top of the car at 5860 Bertie Ave.
– David W. Hosch reported on Nov. 26 someone broke into a residence at 390 Panther Point Trail, Ritchfield.
– Caren Elizabeth Burton, 35, was charged on Nov. 26 with misdemeanor credit card fraud at 115 W. Liberty St.
