Davie County Senior Services opportunities in December

MOCKSVILLE ó Davie County Senior Services, 278 Meroney St., Mocksville, offers the following opportunities in December:
– Intergenerational Movie ó “Dr. Suess’ Horton Hears a Who,” Dec. 9, 4 p.m., free.
Seniors welcome to bring grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Closed captioning will be used for all movies.
– Hospice seminar ó “It’s About How You Live,” Monday, Dec. 15 10:30 a.m. at the Farmington Site, 1723 Farmington Road, Mocksville. Free. Speaker: Tina Stearns and Wendi Uselton, Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
Many people think of Hospice care as “eleventh hour” type of care, but it is more than that. Tina and Wendi will share information about the various services available to the community, many of which are free of charge thanks to donations.
– Christmas party, Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2 p.m. Free. RSVP by Dec. 9.
There will be refreshments, and musical entertainment will be provided by Lisa Woods. She has performed throughout Virginia and the Carolinas for more than 20 years. She has appeared on WBTV’s Top of the Day and was a finalist on the Nashville Network’s “You Can Be a Star” show. Party is for adults 55 and older and exceptions under the general participation policy.
