head start applications

The Salisbury-Rowan Head Start/Early Head Start programs are now accepting applications for the 2008-09 school year for children ages 0-5.
Families must meet criteria for enrollment. The program’s purpose is to provide children with a learning environment and varied experiences to help them socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age. Extended day care services are available for parents who work or are in school.
Those interested should bring a birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security and Medicaid cards, dental and health insurance cards, income verification, copy of disability and allergy diagnosis, physicals, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Work First verification.
Applications are accepted from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the following sites on the specified days:
– West Rowan Center, 313 E. Main St., (Allen Temple), Cleveland, Feb. 13.
– Lash Center, 623 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Feb. 7.
– Livingstone Center, 414 Partee St., Feb. 12.
– W.O.T. Fleming Center, 412 W. 15th St., Feb. 19.
– East Spencer Center, 301 Grant St., East Spencer, Feb. 12.
– Westside Center, 710 Harry St., China Grove, Feb. 21.
– West 22nd St. Center, 2200 Runningbrook Drive, Kannapolis, Feb. 13.
– Price Center, 1300 W. Bank St., Feb. 27 and 28.
– Salisbury-Rowan Head Start central office, 1300 W. Bank St., weekdays.
