Kannapolis man charged with two armed robberies

KANNAPOLIS ó Police have charged a 22-year-old Kannapolis man with two robberies earlier this month.
Terrance Lamar Rucker, of 109 Triece St., faces two two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, according a Police Department arrest log.
Rucker is charged with:
– Robbing taxi driver Derrick Upright at 11:22 p.m. Oct. 13.
– Robbing Roger Knotts, 51, on Oct. 16.
In both cases, the victims said the robber was armed with a gun.
Police Department officials did not return a reporter’s phone calls, and other details about the cases were not available.
Rucker remains in the Cabarrus County Jail under $10,000 bond, according to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Web site, and his next court date is Nov. 12
According to the Sheriff’s Office, he’s been arrested three times previously in Cabarrus County. He was charged with:
– Driving after consuming alcohol while younger than 21 on Aug. 15, 1996. He was sentenced to the time he spent in jail and released Sept. 9, 1996.
– Misdemeanor larceny on Nov. 18, 2003. Again, he was sentenced to the time he had served in jail and released Dec. 10, 2003.
– Misdemeanor larceny on July 6, 2003. The outcome of that case was not available.
