Livingstone College is hosting Christmas events this week that will entertain and draw attention to urgent needs in the Salisbury community.
The Livingstone College choir and band will perform their annual Children’s Christmas Concert for Rowan-Salisbury third-graders at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Varick Auditorium.
A tree-lighting ceremony will take place at the school at 5:15 p.m. that day. A Christmas concert benefit will kick off at 6 p.m in Varick Auditorium. These events are open to the public.
Livingstone officials are asking everyone planning to attend the events to bring two nonperishable food items.
The items will help fill the pantry of Rowan Helping Ministries and provide toys for children in the women’s shelter.
In these tough economic times, more and more people are hurting and hungry. Rowan Helping Ministries and the Family Crisis Council are doing what they can to meet this need, yet the needs of many are greater than their resources can often address.
Livingstone College, through these events, is partnering with Rowan Helping Ministries to collect nonperishable food items and toys for children through the Family Crisis Council.
