Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close Old Concord Road on Monday for crews to do a spot safety project near Old Beatty Ford Road.
The grade will be raised on Old Concord Road in order to improve sight distance, the state agency said.
A detour will be posted taking motorists around the work on Old Beatty Ford Road, Phaniels Church Road and Rogers Road.
The closure is anticipated to last through Friday, Oct. 17.
Motorists should use caution in this area, officials with the agency said.
