SIMPSON, N.C. (AP) ó Police say a North Carolina man wrecked when he veered in front of another vehicle while waving at friends.
The Daily Reflector of Greenville reported 25-year-old Gary Johnson of Greenville was in critical condition at a hospital after the Thursday wreck near the Pitt County town of Simpson.
Trooper William Brown says Johnson was waving at friends walking on the side of the road when his vehicle veered in front of a pickup truck. The truck driver had minor injuries.
Brown says speed wasn’t a factor in the wreck.
