A 31-year-old China Grove man arrested on a charge of threatening his girlfriend may face federal charges of threatening the president.
Yusuf Almuid Williams, of 569 Kirk St., was charged Sunday with threatening his girlfriend “by stating that he would kill her and her unborn child,” according to a warrant issued by Magistrate Fred Moore.
The arrest kicked out a federal detain order for Williams to be held “for threats to President Bush and others.”
The order didn’t specify when or how the threats were made.
Federal agents from Charlotte are scheduled to take Williams into custody today, according to information provided by the magistrate’s office.
