Teens charged with assaulting coach

Two Salisbury teens are charged with assaulting a Salisbury High School coach after a game.
Dezmond Stockdale, 16, and his brother, Tasman Jamal Stockdale, 18, both of 1177 Landsdown Drive, were charged Monday with one count each of assault on a school employee.
The incident apparently occurred in the gym at the school on Friday.
Salisbury Police Officer A.L. Bouk said the two assaulted Christopher Yeary, of Concord, the coach for the JV basketball team.
According to the statement Bouk gave the magistrate, the brothers punched Yeary, kicked his head, face, back and shoulders.
They are scheduled to appear in Rowan District Court on Feb. 20.
They were released in the custody of their mother, Sonji Clegg.Magistrate Todd Wyrick said Clegg inquired about taking out a warrant on Yeary for assault. He referred her to the school resource officer.
