Salvation Army summer camp starts Monday

SALISBURY ó The Salvation Army is still registering children for its summer camp, which starts Monday and runs through Aug. 24. The theme is ěLetís Build Up An Awesome Summer!î Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Tuition cost for the camp is a one-time registration fee of $25 per family plus $40 weekly per child. The fees cover breakfast, lunch and two snacks each day, as well as field trips.
Weekly field trips include, swimming, the library, the Natural Science Museum, Dan Nicholas Park and other destinations. Daily activities include craft-making, devotions, praise and worship and outside play.
Children will also get to help maintain a vegetable garden. Organizers also plan a weekly nutrition program and a movie day when kids get to wear their pajamas.
Throughout the summer, the camp will have theme days such as western day, tacky day and retro day.
