Trexler 50th Anniversary
James William Trexler Jr. and Shirley Frye Trexler of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 11, 2011, at an anniversary celebration hosted by their son, Tim, and his wife, Lisa, and children Kari and T.J. The event was held at First United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall on West Horah Street in Salisbury.
The Trexlers were married June 11, 1961, at Ursinus United Church of Christ in Rockwell by the late Rev. Roy C. Whisenhunt. The son of the late James William Trexler Sr. and Julia Devereaux Trexler, Jim was formerly employed by Belk-Harry for 20 years and for the last 32 years has been employed by Ralph Baker Shoes. The daughter of the late Joseph Harold Frye and Katie Maness Frye, Shirley was employed for 25 years by Rowan Regional medical Center in the medical record coding department until her retirement.
The Trexlers have two sons, the late James William Trexler III and the Rev. Timothy Scott Trexler of Shelby.
Their two grandchildren are Kari Elizabeth and Timothy James (T.J.) Trexler.
A special trip to California is planned with their son Tim and his family.
