Kirk – Rodgers Wedding
LANDIS — Elizabeth Luann Kirk and Travis Brandon Rodgers were united in marriage Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jarrod Lanning officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Salisbury Depot.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Bill Cline, and attended by her sister, Miriam Stirewalt of China Grove, as matron of honor. Her bridesmaids included sister of the groom Sarah Rodgers, stepsister of the bride Alicia Patrick, April Martin and Katie White.
Chuck Rodgers was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were brother-in-law of the bride Cory Stirewalt, Brett Stirewalt, Matthew Kiser and Sidney Cecil.
Kate Martin, goddaughter of the bride, was flower girl, and Caleb Stirewalt, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Guest registrars were Adrianne Scott and Cierra Winstead.
The bride is the daughter of Prent and Kathy Patrick of Kannapolis and Ronnie Kirk of China Grove. She is the granddaughter of Bill and Hazel Cline of China Grove and Charlie and Ginny Patrick of Belmont. A 2005 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Elizabeth received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University in 2009. She is a fifth grade teacher for Rowan-Salisbury Schools at Mount Ulla Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Chuck and Lori Rodgers and the grandson of Frances and the late O.J. Hartsell and “Toot” and Faye Rodgers, all of Kannapolis. A 2005 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Travis received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from ASU in 2009. He is a physical education teacher for Kannapolis City Schools at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School.
Following a wedding trip to the Cayman Islands, the couple will make their home in Kannapolis.
