Would-be robber flees at sight of knife
SALISBURY — A Salisbury woman managed to scare away a would-be robber Friday night.
Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said Wanda Michelle Ivy, 59, was walking along Lash Drive after a trip to the Kangaroo Express on Statesville Boulevard when a male in a car began following her.
Ivy told police that the man told her he wanted her bag.
Lingle said she then proceeded to pull out a knife and tell him that she would “gut him” if he tried to take her bag.
The man fled the scene without incident.
