Lyerly 50th Anniversary

Glenn Wesley Lyerly and Mary Alice Lyerly of Rockwell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise party given by their children Aug. 13, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Rockwell. The Lyerlys were married Aug. 12, 1961, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Concord by the Rev. Hugh Biggers.
Glenn retired from Gamewell Manufacturing after 18 years of service, and Mary Alice has been employed by Neurosurgical Solutions PA in Winston-Salem for the past 17 years.
The couple’s children are Mark A. Lyerly and wife Kelli of Lewisville and Rhonda Barnhardt and husband Chris of Salisbury. They also have a special niece, Brandi Pfeil and husband Matt. They have eight grandchildren.
The Lyerlys plan to continue their celebration with a camping trip this fall.
