Gandy 60th Anniversary

James D. and Dorothy Harding Gandy of Salisbury celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 11, 2011. They were married Aug. 11, 1951, at First Baptist Church in Cheraw, S.C., by the Rev. Dwight McAlister. James retired from Coble Dairy and then started Gandy Window Cleaning, where he later retired. Dorothy is a homemaker. Their children are James C. Gandy of Knoxville, Tenn., Debra G. Wilburn of Charlotte and Steven W. Gandy of Salisbury. They have five grandchildren and expect their first great-grandchild in December. The couple’s celebration included a recent two-week trip through seven states.
