Lentz 50th Anniversary
Donald Edward Lentz and Sue Nance Lentz of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 20, 2011. Their daughters and their families hosted a dinner and entertainment celebration to honor the couple. The Lentzes were married Aug. 20, 1961, by the Rev. William Hall at Organ Evangelical Lutheran Church. They were the first couple to be married in the newly-built church.
The son of the late Carl Edward and Ruth Sides Lentz, Don retired from Celanese Industries. He still raises some cattle and has more projects in mind than his hands can complete.
The daughter of 92-year-old Elsie Basinger Nance and the late Airlene (Sam) Nance, Sue retired from Rowan-Salisbury School System after 33 years as a teacher and media specialist. She is busy caring for her mother, grandchildren and her own household.
Their daughters are Deidre L. Rogers of China Grove, Jennifer and husband Paul Shoczolek of Charlotte and Kara LeAnne and husband Jeff Earley of China Grove. Their five grandchildren are Nathan Rogers, DeAnna Rogers, Garrett Earley, Emma Grace and Landon Shoczolek.
