Literary Bookpost will host Gail Cauble Gurley for a book signing of her two most recent books on Saturday, Sept. 24, 1 -3 pm. Gurley will sign her just-published novel, ěFearless Heart,î and her recently published cookbook, ěOld South Comfort Food.î

ěOld South Comfort Food: Vintage Recipes from the 1930s-1940sî fulfilled Gurleyís lifelong dream to edit and preserve the recipes of her youth from a treasured church cookbook. The original church cookbook was printed in 1948 and was assembled by the Ladies Aid of Faith Lutheran Church. Like the original cookbook, ěOld South Comfort Foodî is spiral bound; unlike the original, it does not cost $1, but $13.95.
Gurley is a Rowan County native and is married to Edward Gurley III. Educated at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she worked for many years for the state of North Carolina, retiring in 1995.
Gurley is an award-winning writer, having worked for several years for two small-town newspapers, and has numerous magazine articles to her credit. She works for the Courier-Tribune in Asheboro as a feature writer. She is the author of three works of fiction and co-author of a screenplay based on her racing book, ěRed Dirt Tracks.î
