Burch – Goodman Wedding
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — Alyson Jan Burch and George Andrew “Andy” Goodman were united in marriage June 25, 2011, at Alhambra Hall. The Rev. Whayne M. Hougland Jr. officiated the 7 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception.
The bride was escorted by her father, Robert McLaurin Burch Jr., and attended by her sister, Robin Amanda Burch of Charleston as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Rebekah Moore Axson of Greenville, S.C.; sister-in-law of the bride Jennifer Riley Burch of Augusta, Ga.; Tracey Ann Cangelosi of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; Elizabeth Gales Penley of Wilmington, N.C.; and Emily Elizabeth Windsor of Columbia.
Sanders Emerson Goodman and Harold David Goodman of Salisbury, father and brother of the groom, stood as best men. Serving as groomsmen were brothers of the bride Robert McLaurin Burch III and Ryan Walker Burch of Augusta, Ga.; Benjamin Francis Goodman of Salisbury; Ross Bradford Penley of Raleigh; and Barry Victor Shive Jr. of Statesville.
Riley Grace Burch, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Serving as readers were Gavin P. Axson of Greenville, S.C., and Trevor A. Cangelosi of Mount Pleasant, ,S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph A.F. and Jana Lanning Cruse of Salisbury and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McLaurin and Janet J.H. Burch Jr. of Augusta, Ga. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert McLaurin and Doris Burch of Florence; Mrs. Agnes Buie Spagnolo and the late Dante Spagnolo of Salisbury, N.C.; and Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Vercie Lanning of Statesville, N.C. A 1999 graduate of Salisbury High School, Alyson received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the College of Charleston in 2003. She is employed by CM3 Media, Inc. in Charleston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sanders Emerson and Judith Main Goodman of Salisbury, N.C. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Marion E.G. Murphy of Salisbury, N.C.; the late Mr. Harold Moses Goodman of Salisbury, N.C.; Mr. and Mrs. George Main of Lompoc, Calif.; and the late Mrs. Marjorie Main of Phoenix, Ariz. A 1995 graduate of Salisbury High School, Andy received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management from ASU in 1999. In 2003 he graduated summa cum laude in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University. Andy is employed by Insphere Insurance Solutions in Charleston.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple are making their home in Charleston.
