Myers – Van Althuis Wedding
Karis Annette Myers of Salisbury and Kyle Edward Van Althuis of Sherburne, N.Y., were united in marriage Aug. 6, 2011, at Maranatha Bible Church in Salisbury.
The Rev. Robert Freitas officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony, which was immediately followed by a reception.
The bride was escorted by her father, Dickie Myers, and attended by Crystal Dupre of Salisbury as matron of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were JoAnna Dickson, Olivia Doles, Breanne Ziraldo, Harli Peeler, Kelly Barton, Erin Brandl and sisters of the groom Courtney Van Althuis and Jordan Van Althuis.
Frank Van Althuis stood as his son’s best man. Groomsmen included brothers of the groom Frank Van Althuis and Kerry Van Althuis, brothers of the bride Andrew Myers and Jesse Myers, Alex Matthews, Allyn Lyttle, Mark Krom, Ryan Blackburn, and Benjamin Fuller.
Bailey Dupre and Katherine Evans served as flower girls, and brother of the bride Daniel Myers was ring bearer.
The bride is the daughter of Dickie and Kim Myers and the granddaughter of Mrs. Lorraine Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Morgan, all of Salisbury. A valedictorian graduate of West Rowan High School, Karis received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Honors Program at Liberty University. She is a graduate student in the Physicians Assistant Program at East Carolina University.
The groom is the son of Frank and Diana Van Althuis and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Van Althuis, all of Sherburne, N.Y., and Mrs. Evelyn Vander Groef of New Jersey. A valedictorian graduate of Valley Heights Christian Academy, Kyle has degrees in Criminal Justice and Biology from the Honors Program at Liberty University. He is a Wildlife Enforcement Officer in New Bern.
Following a 6-day Caribbean cruise, the couple are residing in New Bern.
