SALISBURY — A 49-year-old Salisbury man was stabbed at a party on North Long Street this weekend, authorities said.
No charges have been filed, but the man told police a fellow party-goer grabbed a steak knife and stabbed him in the stomach and leg, according to a Salisbury Police report.
Officers responded to Rowan Regional Medical Center about 9:15 p.m. Saturday night in reference to an assault.
The man told officers he was defending another man at the party when the accused person turned violent.
The 49-year-old was rushed into surgery after friends took him in a private vehicle to the hospital.
Police said the man had an almost 4-inch gash to his abdomen and 1-inch cut to his leg.
Salisbury Police are continuing to investigate.
